People are always getting caldo Verde and Kale soup mixed up. One response says this is not authentic kale soup( cado Verde). They're two distinctly different soups. I make this almost the same except no beans, and ALWAYS Portuguese bread. Crushed red pepper flakes instead of hot sauce. No Crackers! Lol

It looks good and hearty but definitely NOT authentic Portuguese soup. This place used the wrong types of everything (where's the potato base? wrong type of greens, we don't use the beans, why the chicken stock? etc). I would still try it and probably love it, but call it something else, please.

I think there must be many ways to make 'real' Portuguese soup. A. Portuguese cook (from Portugal) gave me his recipe in 1977... it had beans, potatoes and chicken broth!

This is not tour authentic typical Kale (caldo verde) soup. It's a bad fake imitation of it. It's more close to a chicken broth bouillon with kale and linguiça (default we use choriçou portuguese). Where is the potatoe base cream? Guy, go to a real authentic portuguese restaurant (either in US or in Canada) and taste tje difference

It is not supposed to be caldo verde, it is sopa de couve caseira.
