Ingredients:
2 and 1/2 cups of flour
4 eggs
1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of butter, melted
1/4 cup of brandy or aguardente
Zest of one orange
Juice of one orange
Pinch of salt
Sugar and cinnamon for dusting
Oil for frying
Directions:
In the mixer, add the sugar, eggs, butter and orange zest.
Mix all ingredients until well combined.
Add lemon juice, brandy, and pinch salt.
Add flour slowly and combine with all the wet ingredients.
Place dough aside to rest for about one hour.
After one hour, knead the dough on the counter and knead for a while until it is smooth and doesn’t stick to your hands.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave aside for one hour to rest.
After one hour, roll the dough with a rolling pin until it has a thin consistency and cut into 3 inch strips.
Cut into a rectangle and cut a slit in the center.
Fry in a hot oil until golden on both sides.
Roll dough in cinnamon sugar.
