Restaurant: Restaurante Alcides

Address: Rua Hintze Riberio 67, Ponta Delgada

Hours: Mon - Sat, 12:00pm - 3:00pm and 7:00pm - 10:00pm 

Why we like it: Opened in 1956, this is one of the longest running restaurants in the area, and somewhat of a legend. Their Bife à Alcides is said to be the best on the island. We recommend you try it!

 

Restaurant: O Giro

Address: Rua Diário dos Açores 35, Ponta Delgada

Hours: Mon - Sat, 12:00pm - 3:00pm and 6:00pm - 10:00pm 

Why we like it: Great seafood and very reasonable prices. They have a very comprehensive menu with large portions. And at the end of the meal they bring you out some of their homemade cinnamon liquor!

 

Restaurant: Boca de Cena

Address: Rua de São João 4, Ponta Delgada

Hours: Mon - Wed and Fri, 12:00pm - 10:00pm; Thurs and Sat, 7:00pm - 10:00pm

Why we like it: The owner does everything himself - cooking, waiting, payments, and seating. It is a unique and personal dining experience that will leave you wanting more - especially the steak and octopus dishes!

 

Restaurant: A Tasca

Address: Rua do Aljube 16, Ponta Delgada

Hours: Mon - Sat, 11:00am - 12:00am

Why we like it: Authentic. Some of the best local Azorean/Portuguese food with big, bold flavors. A favorite for the locals as well, so always busy. Reservations are a must.

 

Restaurant Name: Casa da Rosa

Address: Rua Hintze Ribeiro 55, Ponta Delgada

Hours: Mon, 7:00pm - 11:00pm; Wed - Sun, 7:00pm - 11:00pm 

Why we like it: Located right next to Alcides, this place is open late night, with great music. The staff are always super friendly, so you feel taken care of from start-to-finish. Very diverse menu mixing local and international fusion flavors.
