Ingredients

1 cup of white sugar1/2 cup of butter2 eggs2 teaspoons of vanilla extract1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour1 3/4 teaspoons of baking powder1/2 cup of milk

Get Portuguese ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F or 180°C.
  2. Grease and dust with flour a 9x9 inch pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. 
  5. Combine the flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. 
  6. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven.
  9. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.
