Salisbury Steak Recipe

4 chopped sirloin patties (make sure they are defrosted)3 tablespoons of flour2 tablespoons of vegetable oil or butterGarlic salt to tasteFreshly ground black pepper3 teaspoons beef bouillon1 1/2 cups of hot water1 large onion, peeled and sliced1 can of mushroom pieces and stems (or if you have the time, buy them fresh)1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce Get Portuguese ingredients
- First, you are going to brown the patties. Dip each into the flour and coat well. Meanwhile, heat a frying pan with the vegetable oil. When the oil is hot, add in your patties. Allow them to brown on both sides. When the patties are brown, you should drain off the remaining oil.
- Separately, prepare beef bouillon by dropping cubes into hot water and stirring while they dissolve. Pour into the frying pan with patties.
- Finish up your Salisbury steak recipe. Add in the onions, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce. Stir and allow mixture to cover meat. Cover and simmer. Cook for about 25 minutes until everything is tender.
In this Salisbury steak recipe, we used sirloin, but you do not have to use fresh meats here. You can use defrosted beef patties as well. Beware of the fat content of the beef though. You do not want excess grease in your finished product.
Most Salisbury steak recipes are served with fresh, home made mashed potatoes. Perhaps nice crusty bread would do well as well. Of course, you can add whatever you enjoy to this recipe.
