Ingredients
1/2 Lb (230g) of dried figs1/2 Lb (230g) of ground almonds2 oz (60g) of cocoa powder1 teaspoon of cinnamongrated rind of 1 lemon1/2 Lb (230g) of granulated sugar4 oz (120 ml) of water

Directions
- Mince the figs finely or put them through a food processor.
- Add the remaining dry ingredients, except for the sugar, in a mixing bowl.
- Add sugar and water to a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, and stir until the sugar is dissolved, then boil without stirring for about 2 minutes, until it is thick and slightly reduced.
- Remove from the heat and add the figs, and the mixed ingredients from the bowl while beating.
- The mixture will be very stiff.
- Bring back to the heat and cook on low until it peels away from the sides and the bottom of the pan.
- Put it into an 8 inch (20 cm) pan or shallow dish.
- Let it cool, and then cut small squares and sprinkle with sugar.
