Ingredients

6 apples1 1/4 cups (10 fl oz) milk1 1/2 cups (10.5 oz) sugar1 2/3 cups (7 oz) flour5 medium eggs4.2 oz apricot jam1 tbsp water1 10x3 inch round baking panButter (for greasing the pan) Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, milk, and flour and mix well.
  2. Peel 4 apples and cut them into pieces.
  3. Add the apple pieces to the bowl with the other ingredients.
  4. Blend everything well until a smooth, lump-free batter forms.
  5. Preheat the oven to 340°F (170°C).
  6. Grease the baking pan.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Peel the remaining 2 apples and slice them thinly.
  9. Arrange the apple slices in circles on top of the batter to fully cover the surface.
  10. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes (adjust time based on your oven).
  11. Perform the toothpick test to check for doneness.
  12. Let it cool before removing from the pan.
  13. Once cooled, give the tart a glossy finish.
  14. In a small bowl, mix the apricot jam with the 1 tablespoon of water.
  15. Brush the top of the tart with the jam mixture.
