Portuguese Almond Pudding Recipe

This Portuguese almond pudding ( pudim de amendoas) recipe makes an amazing pudding using only simple ingredients.

Ingredients

2 and 1/4 cups of sugar2 cups of chopped almonds (without skin)1 and 1/2 cups of water14 egg yolksButter (to taste)Sugar (to taste)

Get Portuguese ingredients

Directions

  1. Turn the oven to 355 F.
  2. Grease a round cake pan and sprinkle with sugar.
  3. In a pot, add the sugar and water, bring to a boil and simmer for two minutes.
  4. After cooling slightly, add the almond and the yolks.
  5. Bring to a boil again, stirring constantly, and boil for about three minutes.
  6. Remove and pour into cake pan.
  7. Bake in a water bath for about an hour.
  8. When it's done, remove from the oven an let it cool.
  9.  Unmold from the pan and place it on a dish.
