8 cleaned squid2 garlic clovesOlive oil (to taste)Fresh coriander (to taste)Fresh basil leaves (to taste)Salt (to taste)Pepper (to taste)Lemon juice (to taste)

Get Portuguese ingredients

Instructions

  1. Wash the squid, dry well and season with salt.
  2. Grill the squid (4 to 5 minutes each side) and put them aside once done.

Sauce:

  1. Place the garlic and the herbs in a mortar and turn it into a paste.
  2. Once done, put it in a bowl, add the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the olive oil and mix very well.
  4. Drizzle the grilled squid with the sauce and serve.

Oh, this should be very popular in Mexico where we live. Fresh squid comes tour local fish market on a daily basis and we love it. Photo looks as if the tentacles have been removed. For what do you suggest to use these? And the sauce should be usable for so many other seafood choices. Thanks!

I usually fry this part of the squid, using a dusting of flour and garlic. Or coated with a sweet soy glaze. But would be open to trying other options. Google was not too creative/imaginative on the subject.
