Paula's Traditional Roasted Corn Recipe

Paula's traditional roasted corn (milho torrado), a popular and delicious snack, I remember eating and loving these as a kid.

Ingredients

2 cups of dried corn2 tablespoons of olive oil1 teaspoon of fine salt
2 cups of dried corn2 tablespoons of olive oil1 teaspoon of fine salt
Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. Soak the dried corn for 12 to 18 hours.
  2. Dry the kernels well with paper towels.
  3. Brush a non stick roasting pan with olive oil.
  4. Add the corn kernels to the pan and spread them out.
  5. Roast the kernels at 200°C or 400°F for 25 to 30 minutes or until crunchy and golden, shaking the pan occasionally.
  6. Sprinkle with the salt, enjoy.

Matt, you soak the kernels in water on step 1, on step 2 you dry them, then follow the other steps. 👍
